Interdisciplinary artist Dominic Taranto balances a sharp modern aesthetic with precision, humour, and the ongoing expertise of his fifteen-year practice. Deeply grounded in strong technique, he creates work within multiple mediums across both visual and performing art genres that responds to contemporary issues with both passion and compassion.

His love of colour is inspired by the abstract expressionists such as Pollack, Rothko, Kandinsky, Mondrian. A fascination with line work is more recently inspired by modern artists such as Angela Johal in San Francisco, Quibe in France and Chaim Machlev (DotstoLines) in Berlin.

Recent accomplishments include a successful expansion into mural art, which has been received enthusiastically by patrons and the public alike. As a very proud and active member of the local LGBTQIA+ community, DOminic splits his time between advocating for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the tech space and his art career. Bridging the gap between his two passions he brings a message of equality and safety using his artwork.

A graduate of Monash and Victoria Universities, Taranto is active in mentoring emerging artists, and manages the acclaimed Artist Residency program at Redbubble.

Previous solo exhibitions include CORNERS at No Vacancy Project Space 2016, MOMENTS at No Vacancy Gallery 2017, LINEAR at Off the Kerb Gallery (2019) and a piece in the upcoming Urban Arts Festival ‘Can’t Do Tomorrow’. Australia’s new festival of urban art features a series of major installations and programming set to take over The Facility, Kensington in Melbourne for ten days this summer.
